Exploring our Yard |
We found a red-spotted newt by our garage!! Adults are olive green with a yellow belly and red spots on the back. This is a newt in a juvenile stage called a red eft. They enjoy damp woodland habitats and will return to a pond as an adult newt. I wonder if he will live in our stream? |
| Mike held it in his hand! I petted it (barely, I prefer furry creatures). | |

| Sadie must have been getting into something, she has dirt all over her nose. She is starting to explore the woods more now, I guess she is finally comfortable at her new home. I hope she doesn't start getting into trouble. At least she didn't try to eat the young newt. | Hiking in our yard. I carried a pet canteen so Sadie could have water. It's supposed to be water-proof sealed but I think it leaks. |
| Where's Mike??? I think he's hiding in the woods! |

 | the stream in our yard (it's not huge, but it's still our own stream!) |
| our waterfall - it can't be heard from the house since it's too far away but sitting next to it sounds so soothing and there's plenty of room to camp next to it! |
